The upcoming scientific seminar of the Institute of Ethnology will feature presentations by Assoc. Prof. Elena Marušiaková and Assoc. Prof. Vesselin Popov.
The seminar will be held on the 30th of January 2014 at 16.00 in the conference room on Klemensova street no. 19 in Bratislava. Assoc. Prof. Elena Marušiaková and Assoc. Prof. Vesselin Popov work at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences The lecture will present the diversity of Muslim Roma, their specific style of “everyday Islam” and the religious syncretism that is part of their everyday life and ceremonies. They will also talk about the current process of establishment and development of Roma Muslim religious communities and “fraternal” orders.
